Bachelorette and Bachelor Parties in Oceanside
Something for the group to actually do, rather than another table. Four lanes, up to 16 throwers, ten minutes from the pier and downtown Oceanside.
Where this fits in the day
Worth being straight with you: Chopscape is alcohol-free. We are not the bar stop. What we are is the hour in the middle that gives the group a story and a scoreboard, before or after everything else you have planned.
That turns out to suit a lot of parties. Downtown Oceanside and the harbour are a short drive for food and drinks either side, and nobody has to organise a designated driver around us.
Practically, it also solves the problem where half the group does not drink. Everyone throws.
Group size and the buyout option
Four lanes, four throwers per lane, so 16 people is the ceiling before anyone is standing around. A group of 8 to 12 is the sweet spot — two or three lanes running, enough rotation to keep it moving.
If you want the venue to yourselves, we do whole-venue buyouts. They are quoted individually and need more notice than a single lane, especially on a Saturday. Call and we will talk through the timing.
| When | Price per thrower | Lane time |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday – Wednesday | $25 | 60 minutes |
| Thursday – Sunday | $30 | 60 minutes |
One lane holds up to four throwers. Larger groups simply book more lanes. We are closed Mondays.
Things worth telling the group in advance
- Closed-toe shoes are required. No sandals, no slides. This catches out more bachelorette parties than anything else, so put it in the group chat early.
- Everyone signs a waiver. You can sign it ahead of time to save queueing at the door.
- Ages 13 and up, so younger siblings and cousins are not automatically excluded.
- Wear something you can swing in. Sashes are fine. Long trailing sleeves are less fine.
- Free parking on site, which matters if the group is arriving in several cars.
Saturdays and timing
Saturday is our longest day, 10am to 9pm, which gives a party room to slot an hour wherever it fits. Weekend throwing is $30 a head. Tuesday and Wednesday are $25 and much quieter, if the party happens to be midweek.
We are closed Mondays.
Stack it with a rage room
RageScape, in Suite WX of the same building, runs a rage room, a paint splatter room and an escape room — all of which pair obviously well with a bachelorette or bachelor party. Book attractions at both venues and guests save 10% on the added attractions.
Please note: Chopscape and RageScape are separate businesses, each operated by its own company. You book, pay and sign waivers with each venue separately. The bundle discount is a promotional arrangement between the two businesses, not a single combined booking.
Common questions
Can you drink at Chopscape?
No. Chopscape is an alcohol-free venue. Downtown Oceanside and the harbour are a short drive away for food and drinks before or after, and it means nobody in the group has to sit out.
How many people can a bachelorette party bring?
Up to 16 throwers across four lanes. Groups of 8 to 12 tend to work best. For exclusive use of the venue, ask about a whole-venue buyout.
Can we book the whole venue?
Yes. Whole-venue buyouts are quoted individually and arranged by phone on (760) 585-5652. Weekend buyouts need as much notice as you can give.
What should we wear for axe throwing?
Closed-toe shoes are required, with no sandals or slides. Otherwise wear something you can swing your arms in. Sashes and party gear are fine.
How much does it cost per person?
$25 per thrower Tuesday to Wednesday and $30 Thursday to Sunday, for a 60 minute lane with up to four people. There is no separate party fee on a standard booking.
Do we all need to sign a waiver?
Yes, every thrower signs one. You can sign it online before you arrive, which saves the group queueing at the door.
